Toshiba Machine to revert to traditional Shibaura name

on 24th March 2020

From 1st April 2020, the diverse products manufactured by the various Toshiba Machine Divisions and Associated Companies are to be amalgamated and marketed as SHIBAURA MACHINE – reverting to its original name first launched in 1938.

Advanced technology and innovations in robotics, control systems, additive machining, nano technology and automation, are applicable to metal cutting machine tools, die casting machines and injection moulding machines. More and more companies, suffering from depleted engineering resources, are turning away from “boxes” to system and application solutions.

All the above products, manufactured in six plants by 1770 employees, will benefit from joint co-operation under the single Shibaura name with its headquarters in Numazu City, enabling the company to benefit from the closer liaison formed between all sites and worldwide dealers.

Leader CNC Technologies is proud to be designated as Main Dealer Europe for Shibaura Machine, now with access to more products and, through new Shibaura offices already opened in Europe, working more closely with its previously separate Divisions. Over the last 10 years we have been top European Dealer in machine tool sales.

Shibaura Machine manufactures almost everything from start to finish – castings from their own foundry and their own control systems ensure total machine integrity and compatibility. Shibaura ( Toshiba ) machines are found in marine, aerospace, power generation, construction and transportation industries.

At the EMO Exhibition last year, Shibaura demonstrated their innovative UVM Nano machine aimed at the medical, instrument, optical and space industries. The UVM/UVG range of metal cutting and grinding machines demonstrate ultra-precision machining and focus on the next generation of products such as smartphone and computer manufacturing, working in conjunction with other Shibaura products such as robotics and injection moulding.

Industries with a strong presence in mirror-finishing optics and precision mould manufacturing in hardened steel will also draw benefits from the UVM range.

Leader CNC Technologies is now in a position to expand its activities into previously unexploited markets, using the combined resources of the restructured Shibaura Company and its existing product network.
